As you know, many programs have been created to download content from the Internet via torrents using P2P (peer-to-peer) technology, among which the Media Get application can be called one of the most popular. But very often users notice that in certain situations Media Get does not download files. There can be a fairly large number of reasons for this, so it is worth considering them separately, taking into account the most relevant solutions and methods for correcting the current situation.
Why doesn't Media Get download games or any other files?
As for the main reasons for this behavior of the program, in each case, failures can depend on many factors. However, it is generally accepted that Media Get does not download games or any other content exclusively in the following situations:
- no internet connection;
- for the selected downloads there are no distributing computers (seeds and peers);
- client application blocked by firewall or antivirus;
- program has wrong connection settings;
- client version out of date.
Based on the above list, let's start looking for the most effective solutions for each situation.
What should I do if Media Get does not download files?
First of all, check your own internet connection. In particular, we are talking about the fact that on computers the connection icon can be displayed in the system tray as an active icon, but in fact there is no connection as such. Just open some site on the Internet through a browser and make sure that everything is in order with the connection.

In the case of Wi-Fi-based wireless networks, sometimes it is necessary to completely reboot the router (router or ADSL modem operating in the distribution mode), turning it off for 10-15 seconds, and then plugging it back in.
In the case of the lack of distributing computers, alas, no action will help you. In such a situation, if you see that Media Get is not downloading files, just download another torrent file from the tracker, for which a sufficient number of seeds and peers are displayed in the list.
Firewall troubleshooting
However, the most common problems are usually related to the fact that on Windows systems this software client is blocked by built-in security tools.

That's whyimmediately after installation, if the operating system did not issue a warning about the trust relationship at the first start of the application, the program will need to be added to the list of exceptions.
But if "Media Get" does not download precisely because of the blocking from the firewall, make sure that this is really the case. To get started, simply disable the firewall in the appropriate section of the Control Panel. If everything works after deactivation, but you absolutely need a firewall in your work, open its settings and add Media Get to the list of allowed applications.

If this doesn't work either, you will have to create two new rules for the program (for incoming and outgoing connections) in the advanced firewall settings, specify the path to the start executable file, and then save the changes, just in case, completely restarting the computer.
Antivirus exclusions
The same goes for some antivirus applications. In this case, the technology is almost the same. First, disable both the antivirus itself and its built-in firewall, which theoretically can block some traffic. If the client works, add "Media Get" to the list of exceptions of the antivirus itself. Such actions in different antiviruses are performed almost the same, and only the sections in which the settings and parameters responsible for this are located can differ.
Program settings
Finally, it also happens that "Media Get" does not download only for the reason that the wrong options are set in the application itself,regarding connection and download or upload limits.

In this situation, pay attention to the image above and set exactly the options shown in it.
Note: Pay special attention to your preferred port selection. In some cases, it may be necessary to create a rule in the firewall for it as well.
Finally, if none of the above fails to solve the problem of inability to download, remove the version of the client you have installed using uninstaller applications like iObit Uninstaller, download the installation distribution kit of the latest modification of the program from the official website of the developer and install it on your computer again by running the installer file as an administrator.
IMPORTANT! When downloading the distribution, it may be necessary to completely disable the antivirus or all kinds of protective optimizer programs that can recognize Media Get as potentially dangerous or unwanted software during download (sometimes after downloading they simply spontaneously delete the installation file or block it).
