Apparently, any owner of a mobile phone or computer that has information about contacts and phone numbers faced the need to save them as a backup in case of a quick recovery if something unexpected happens to the device. It is clear that the impact of viruses cannot be ruled out either. Even on Android systems, such threats can penetrate quite simply (take, for example, the recent hype around the Play Market repository, which contained a huge number of infected applications). But viruses can easily delete important user information, including contact details of friends, relatives, business partners, etc.
In order to protect yourself from unforeseen situations associated with the loss of such details, it is best to transfer the contact list as a backup or a copy that is constantly updated as it changes to some cloud service. Let's talk about how to save contacts in the cloud. As a few simple examples, let's take popular repositories from Google, Mail. Ru and Yandex. The actions performed in other services do not fundamentally differ from what will be described below. However, we will give preference exclusively to mobile systems.
How to save contacts in the Google cloud: standard synchronization on Android devices
So, first, let's look at the simplest steps that will allow you to save your contact list with all the additional information in the Google cloud service, which can be useful to all owners of Android devices.
How to save phones to the cloud in your phone? The first simplest method is the usual synchronization of the phone book with the account used on the device. Enter the settings of your smartphone or tablet, open the contacts section, tap on the button for accessing additional options marked with three dots, and then select the option to connect with Google.

After the operation is completed, a notification of successful synchronization will appear.
Note: this option may not be available on all Android modifications or it will need to be accessed from the accounts section.
Speaking of how to save contacts in the Google cloud on Android, you can do without using the above function.

To simplify matters, you can immediately enter the account sectionrecords, tap on the Google account used on the device, then scroll through the settings menu to the very bottom and select the contact synchronization item, after that activating the start of the process by pressing the update button marked with a circular arrow. When completed, the current date and time will be displayed, which is the same as when the sync was completed.
Export phonebook to file
Obviously, the two previous methods require an active internet connection. But how to save contacts in the cloud if there is no connection at the moment? Easy too!

To get started, you can use the previously described contacts section, but select export as the operation to be performed, and then specify the location to save the phone book (SIM card, SD media, internal storage). From a practical point of view, it is best to save the file on removable media (depending on the OS version or your choice, this will be either a vCard file or a CSV file). After that, you can enter Gmail from your home computer, connect your smartphone to it, and then import contacts from the file in the service itself, specifying its location on the mobile device.
Note: if for some reason the device does not appear in the overview, first copy the saved file to your hard drive. You can also simply save the created file to the Google Drive storage without using import in the mail service, but it will be automatically edited or synchronized with the deviceimpossible.
Actions with the cloud Mail. Ru
Now let's see how to save contacts in the cloud from the popular mail service Mail. Ru. Initially, you will need to install the appropriate cloud application on your computer or mobile device. In the case of a PC, you will first need to use the account manager, mark the necessary contacts on the computer (for example, in some mail program), save the file in DOC format, launch the Cloud Mail. Ru cloud application and specify the location of the saved file to upload to the cloud.

As for how to save contacts in the cloud on a mobile device, you can offer to run the installed mobile applet, select the item to copy entries, mark the details to be transferred and wait for the data transfer process to complete.
Note: please note that when copying contacts on a mobile device, the exported file will be automatically created in TXT text format, and already in the cloud it will be converted to DOC, which will allow you to edit it directly when you enter the service under your account (login and password from mail).
Transfer contacts from one device to another via the Yandex cloud
Lastly, let's focus on one more popular service. The actions are slightly different. But its advantage is that you can use the transfer even on very outdated mobile devices and platforms.

To do this, you just need to install the Yandex. Moving application, choosing the version specifically for your model of the old device, after which you will need to log in, after the data transfer is completed, write down the PIN code that appears (you will need it when importing contacts to new device).

Install the Yandex. Disk applet on the new device, log in with the same login and password that were used for Yandex. Moving, call the application settings, enter the previously recorded PIN code and tap on the transfer start point data. Only and everything!
