USB drives manufactured by A-DATA appeared on the world market relatively recently, but have already gained popularity among many users of such devices due to their high reliability. Unfortunately, they are not immune from the appearance of all kinds of failures and errors, which often lead to the failure of microcontrollers and the loss of important information. Next, we will consider several simple ways to restore a flash drive from this particular manufacturer, although the proposed options (except for one of the following described) can be applied to most devices of this class known today.
A-DATA USB recovery options
If we talk about restoring he alth or information, covering the issue in full, it is worth noting that A-DATA flash drives, like any other USB drives, can beuse in two ways: either use them to restore a stationary operating system installed on a computer or laptop, or restore the devices themselves after some critical failures or even virus exposure. We will dwell on actions with Windows in terms of bringing the system to a working state very briefly, and we will focus on methods that allow you to restore the drives themselves and information that could be stored on them, but was damaged or deleted due to failures.
Brief description of recovering Windows from a flash drive
As for restoring the operation of Windows systems if they cannot be started in any of the known modes, as well as in case of rollback errors, every user should know such actions.
They consist of a few simple steps:
- load system image;
- create a bootable flash drive from the downloaded image (for example, in the Rufus program);
- installing a flash drive as the first boot device in BIOS;
- start from media;
- restoring startup or the entire system as a whole;
- if recovery is not possible - checking system files via the command line (sfc /scannow), checking or overwriting the bootloader (Bootrec.exe toolkit with additional attributes), using other console checkers or third-party programs that have their own bootloaders for testing hard drive, RAM, etc.

But, since we are talking about flash drives, the performance of which is disrupted due to some kind of failure, now let's dwell on a few simple solutions that are provided specifically for A-DATA devices. Restoring a flash drive after a critical malfunction should begin with the described program. It must first be downloaded from the official website of the manufacturer.
Please note that quite a lot of characters will be shown on the page. This concerns the clause of the license agreement, so it can be safely noted. Next, just enter your email address, country, preferred language and click the download button.
If you already have a registered account, you can log in using it (for example, through the social network Facebook with confirmation of the code from the picture) and enter a special serial number of the product (if you have any questions, you can use the links to examples). Upon completion of these steps, the download will be completed, and the application file will only need to be unpacked and launched.
No special actions need to be taken in the interface of the A-DATA flash drive recovery utility. Here you should only answer in the affirmative to the question about the immediate start of the repair of the drive and wait for the restoration process to complete.
Note: The serial number can be found directly on the drive's USB port.
Media Recovery in A-DATA USB Flash Disk Utility
Before us is another official utility, which, according to many experts and ordinary users, works no worse than the previous one, and, as is already clear, is intended exclusively for devices from this particular manufacturer (although, by and large, it equally successful can be applied to other similar devices). This program, unlike other similar applications, is mostly focused on fixing problems related to the inability to determine or use the full amount of the drive.
To restore an A-DATA flash drive or any other device in the application, go to the Partition tab, set the Security Disk Size slider to the extreme right position, corresponding to the maximum, and press the start formatting button (Partition). Then you have to agree that all data will be destroyed. There is nothing wrong with this, since it will be possible to restore them even after formatting. That is, files can be deleted. Restoring a flash drive, or rather, its full size, does not particularly affect this. We will dwell on the restoration of the files themselves deleted during the formatting process separately, but for now we will consider one more cardinal solution.
MPTool microcontroller recovery application
Finally, A-DATA flash drive recovery can be done using a utility designed to fix problems with Prolific PL-2528 microcontrollers. In theory, afterwhen the program starts, the drive will be detected automatically.
If this does not happen, press the Detect button (it may take 5-6 clicks until the start button becomes active). Next, you just need to start formatting and wait for the process to finish.
Note: if the flash drive is not detected at all, it is possible that the device is simply incompatible with the program. In this case, try to enter the settings (Setting button), if a password is required, enter mp2528admin, go to the Others tab, set the formatting type to SuperFloppy, then click the Apply and Exit buttons, then repeat the formatting described above.
Recovery of information in the DiskDigger program
Now let's look at the methods of recovering lost information. Some experts recommend using a small DiskDigger utility (it is paid, but you can use the trial period). This is not to say that it is intended exclusively for flash drives. With its help, you can try to find deleted or lost files on hard drives.
Restoring content deleted from a flash drive is quite simple. In the application, simply select your media, check the desired file types or select all possible formats, and then save the detected objects.
Note: when scanning, it is best to use not the standard search, but the item "Dig even deeper …".
Utility for searching andrecover deleted R-Studio files
However, despite the original name, the previous program is somewhat reminiscent of the Recuva utility, so don't have any special illusions about it. It is believed that it is best to recover files deleted from a flash drive in the R-Studio program. It is the most powerful tool of its kind known, and it is also quite easy to use.
Here, as usual, you need to select the drive, press the start scan button, and save the search results in any convenient place on your hard drive or external device. It is especially worth noting that the probability of finding and recovering deleted files is so high that very often this application can be used even if the media has been formatted, and not even in a quick way, but with a full format.
Low-level media formatting and other methods
It remains to be added that if none of the above methods gave the proper result, as the latest solution, you can use the popular HDD LLFT program, which will perform a low-level format and restore access to any device.
If you wish, you can independently determine the flash drive identifiers (for example, using the ChipGenius program), and then find the necessary firmware for microcontrollers using them and try to restore your device. But this technique is general, so sometimes it’s much easier to use “native”software products targeted specifically at A-DATA devices.
