V-sync is designed to make video games look smoother. However, this technology not only improves the quality of graphics, but also uses a lot of computer resources. Some games experience severe performance degradation when this feature is enabled. Also, compatibility issues may occur when sync is enabled. Let's figure out how to disable vertical sync in Fallout 4.

All ways
There are two ways to turn off, but they all do not apply to the graphics settings within the game itself. To do this, you need to use either the NVIDIA proprietary control panel, or editing game files. Consider both ways.
NVIDIA panel
This option disables vertical sync viadriver settings. You can turn off the option both on the entire computer and on a separate game. To disable vertical sync in Fallout 4, do the following:
- Launch the graphics card control panel.
- Open the "Manage 3D Settings" subsection.
- Go to the tab "Program settings" and select the name of the game from the list.
- In the graphics settings table, find "Vertical Sync" and select "Off".
Now you know how to disable synchronization in Fallout 4 using the video card driver. Consider the second way.
Change file
First you need to find the configuration file called Fallout4Prefs.ini. It is located in the same place where the game saves are located - in the "Windows Documents". Open this directory and find the folder "My Games", and in it the directory with the name of the game.
Find the mentioned document in it and open it through the standard "Notepad". You can do this using the right-click context menu.
In the window you need to find the line "iPresentInteral-1". For convenience, use the search for the key combination Ctrl + F and insert the name of the line. Change the number 1 to 0 and save the change in the file. Now you need to go to the properties of the documents and in the "General" tab, check the box next to the "Read Only" item. Save your changes again and close the properties window. The same must be done with another file undernamed Fallout4.ini. It is located in the same folder.

Result
You can now disable vertical sync in Fallout 4 in two different ways. So you can increase the performance in the game by about 10-20 FPS, depending on the power of the computer. However, this may also cause image twitching during dynamic gameplay.
