What are they and where do they live? What is the best way to kill this or that enemy? You will find answers to all these questions in our guide.
Description

Necromorphs are reanimated corpses of living creatures, which, under the influence of cosmic radiation, strongly mutated and took on terrifying forms. The creatures resulting from this process are extremely aggressive and will attack any uninfected organism that comes into their sight.
In the Dead Space trilogy, necromorphs are the main opponents of the protagonist, and indeed of all mankind as a whole. Their main task isspread the infection in order to collect as much biological material as possible for the Brethren of the Moon - huge monsters on a planetary scale. And since the infection is transmitted only through dead tissue, they kill all living things in their path.
The birth cycle of Necromorphs starts with Obelisks. These extraterrestrial devices are constantly emitting an electromagnetic signal. It provokes the rebirth of any dead flesh into the tissue of necromorphs. In addition, infection occurs through the pathogen - an alien bacterium. True, only certain types of creatures transmit it - infectors and swarms.
Necromorph habitats - any point in the universe of the trilogy. You will meet these inanimate monsters in the sewers and service tunnels, in living quarters, on the surface of the planet and even in outer space.
All kinds of Necromorphs in Dead Space
The developers did a good job on the bestiary in the game. In addition to the bosses, which, by the way, are 9 in the trilogy, the adventure will have to fight with more than twenty types of Necromorphs. And each of these types of opponents is distinguished by survivability and unique abilities. So they will need certain tactics of the game. And then we will take a closer look at all types of Necromorphs in the universe of the Dead Space trilogy.
Slasher

The most common type of Necromorph in Dead Space, found throughout the game. Flesh Tearers are relatively weak, but they are a serious threat if they attack in a group, because they only need a few hits to kill your hero. Goodthese opponents are slow, and they can be destroyed on the way. To do this, cut off 2-3 limbs.
Leaper

These Necromorphs pose a serious danger, as they are able to move quickly and jump long distances. In addition, their sharp claws and spiked tail can kill your character in Dead Space in just 1-2 hits. Jumpers with a dark color and red eyes are especially dangerous. Moreover, such Necromorphs are found in each part of the trilogy, and at the same time they can attack both in dark corridors and in zero gravity. To destroy such an enemy, immediately shoot off the arms and head. This will slow down the enemy and you can finish them off with a boot kick.
Hidden (Lurker)

This enemy can be called the sniper of Dead Space, because he specializes in long-range attacks. Many sticky limbs allow him to cling to any support and even the ceiling. In addition, this enemy moves silently and loves to hide in dark corners, from where he attacks the main character.
The three tentacles that emerge from the back of the hidden one are especially dangerous. They deliver slashing blows of great force in close combat, and also shoot bone formations at long range. Therefore, in a battle with these Necromorphs, you must first of all shoot off the tentacles, especially since the body of the hidden ones is almost invulnerable.
Pregnant
In the Dead Space trilogy, a Necromorph of this type is found in all parts. Helooks like a bloated Dismantler and works in much the same way. The only difference is that if you do not shoot off the limbs of the pregnant woman in time, then the belly of the monster will burst and many larvae or hidden ones will appear from there. Therefore, in a battle with several opponents, try to kill the pregnant woman first. And shoot the upper limbs, trying not to hurt the legs and stomach. Otherwise, the Necromorph will “give birth.”
Maggots (Swarmer)
The smallest and weakest Necromorphs of the game "Grandfather Space". But do not underestimate them, because the larvae attack, as a rule, in a flock and can tear your hero apart in just seconds. In combat with these opponents, it is better to use a flamethrower or other weapon with a large damage radius.
Wheezer
This type of opponent is found only in the first and third parts of the "Grandfather Space" trilogy. The rattlesnakes cannot move or attack, but they still exhale a deadly gas. And if your hero does not kill these Necromorphs in time, then he will simply suffocate. And destroying them is not so difficult, besides, these opponents can be trampled under boots in order to save ammunition. The main thing is to detect wheezing in time.
Exploder

Enemies of this kind are found in every part of the Dead Space game. They are dangerous because they carry a large bag with a luminous substance in their left hand. And if they get closer, they will definitely hit your hero with it, which will cause an explosion. As a rule, Demomen attack in a group, but they can be destroyed on the way. Firstly, they can be seen from the luminous bag, and secondly, these Necromorphs make a loud sound, similar to clucking. So it will be easy to spot the bombers. To kill these opponents, shoot the bag or cut off the limbs.
Divider
This enemy is found in the first and second parts of the Dead Space game. The Necromorph, resembling a tall and thin human, breaks into several pieces once you deal enough damage to it. And each of these parts will attack your hero. So it will take a lot of ammo to kill the separator. When fighting an enemy, it is advisable to use stasis to freeze all parts. Then it will be easier to shoot them with a laser rifle.
The Beast (Brute)
One of the most powerful and dangerous Necromorphs in Dead Space, which is found only in the first and second parts of the trilogy. His huge body is covered with armor, which is invulnerable to any weapon. And you can kill the monster by shooting off the upper limbs. But for this you need to hit several times the vulnerable points between the shoulders and the body, highlighted in yellow. The task is complicated by the fact that the beast attacks quickly and even one of its blows can destroy the hero. Therefore, in combat, it is advisable to maneuver, as well as use a flamethrower, stasis or freeze capsules.
Infector

Resembling a stingray with a huge mouth, this Necromorph is not particularly dangerous in combat. However, it must be killed first, as the Corruptor turns all nearby corpses into Flesh Tearers. And if you letthe situation is left to chance, then very quickly hordes of opponents form around you. The Infestor is found throughout the game.
Tryasun (Twitcher)

One of the fastest Necromorphs, which looks like a Dismantler, but differs from it in running speed and reaction. This enemy is very difficult to hit even at close range, so it is advisable to use stasis in combat. The best weapon against the shaker will be a pulse rifle or a plasma cutter. The Necromorph is found in the first and third parts of the game.
Guardian

This biomass-like Necromorph with a human face is firmly attached to the wall. And although the monster cannot actively hunt you, this does not make it less dangerous, because the guardian is able to release a tentacle with a tip. And one blow of this process will immediately kill your hero. Moreover, the tentacle flies off to a fairly large distance, so the guards need to be killed from afar. In addition, the enemy spits out small Necromorphs - pods, which will also add a lot of trouble.
Moreover, the guardian is only vulnerable when he shoots out his appendages, and to kill him, you need to cut them all off. To do this, it is better to use any explosive, trying to throw it into the hole on the Necromorph's stomach.
Pod
These small monsters, looking like lumps of flesh with one tentacle, are spat out by the guard. And although they have weak characteristics, Necromorphs can cause a lot of trouble, because they spit out sharp needles, which significantly reduce the level of he alth. In addition, these opponents explode on death, so it is undesirable to be near the pods after cutting off the limbs. And even more so, you should not trample them with boots.
Dragtacle

This Necromorph, which is essentially a huge tentacle, is found in all parts of the game. Its full appearance has not been shown, but it can be assumed that this monster is huge. And there is also an opinion that this is one of the offshoots of the slug (the boss of the first part). This Necromorph attacks your hero in the narrow corridors of the spaceship, grabbing him by the legs and dragging him into his lair. And in order to free yourself, you need to hit the yellow vulnerable points on the monster's body, and one shot from a powerful weapon is enough. The task is complicated by the fact that it is difficult to aim at a moving tentacle, and stasis does not affect it.
Hunter. Ubermorph. The Regenerators

These mini-bosses are similar in appearance to the Flesh Tearers, but with longer arms and massive blades. Such Necromorphs are invulnerable to conventional weapons, and cutting off limbs does not lead to death, but only slows down opponents, because monsters can regenerate and grow new arms and legs. True, this takes time. Therefore, the tactics of combat with such opponents is to slow down with stasis and shoot off the limbs. Then you will have ten seconds to run away to a safe distance.
Puke(Puker)
A rather dangerous type of opponent that spits acid over a long distance, thereby slowing down your hero. In close combat, he tries to pour acid vomit under Isaac's overalls, which takes a huge amount of he alth. These Necromorphs appear in Dead Space 2 and 3. To kill them, use a plasma cutter, shooting off the legs first, and then the head. So you will get rid of the enemy in 2-3 shots, otherwise the Necromorph will take an impressive supply of ammo.
Crawlers

These Necromorphs transform from the corpses of children and look like babies with a bloated yellow belly. Despite their small size, the enemies are quite dangerous, because when approached they explode, cause serious damage to the main character, and besides, crawlers attack, as a rule, in a large group.
These enemies are easy to kill, just hit the yellow bag and they will explode, destroying nearby enemies along the way. But it is advisable not to let them close to you, otherwise you will be hit by an explosive wave.
Bubble
An immobile monster found in the second and third parts of the game. Looks like a small breathing growth on the walls. Despite the weak characteristics, it is better to kill a Necromorph of this type from afar, because when approached, the bubble spits out an organic bomb, which, when falling, causes significant damage. Fortunately, to kill a monster, it is enough to hit him with just one bullet. The main thing is to find a bubble, because this necromorph most often hides in dark corners and you can only find out about its presence bycharacteristic sigh.
Feeders
These skeleton-like monsters were once humans who starved to death on the planet Tau Valantis. They do not differ in strength and dexterity, but they attack in a large crowd, which makes them dangerous opponents. In a fight with eaters, it is better to use weapons with a wide angle of destruction. This type of Necromorphs is found in Dead Space 3.
Waster (Waster)
Such a Necromorph is found only in the third part of the game. He disguises himself as a person and uses any means at hand to attack, most often ice axes. To kill the waste, you need to shoot off his legs. But if you slightly damage the monster's body, it will immediately split into two parts, and three tentacles will grow from its back. And hitting them with conventional weapons is much more difficult.
Nest
A large species of Necromorphs that are found in the second and third parts of the game, in the zero gravity zone. The monster attacks with homing organic projectiles resembling octopuses. The monster's only weak points are the three yellow sacs of infected flesh that it fires. They are easy to destroy with a single shot from a mine from a laser rifle.
Pack (The Pack)

This type of opponent is found only in the second part of the game. Necromorphs, apparently, appeared from children 6-7 years old. They are very dangerous, because they attack from all sides and in a very large group, in fact, for this they got their name. And although each member of the pack is rather weak, together they can tear the main character apart literally forfew seconds. In a fight with a pack, it is better to use a rapid-fire weapon with a large supply of ammo, and the flamethrower, laser rifle mines and the alternative fire of the power cutter just as effectively deal with opponents.
Roy
A small necromorph that looks like a spider is dangerous because it revives all the corpses near it, turning them into waste. Found only in the third part of the game.
Stalker

This is one of the most dangerous types of Necromorphs, which is found in the second and third parts of the trilogy. Stalkers, similar to matting birds, are distinguished not only by their strength and great speed, but also by their developed intellect. They hunt in groups, stalking their prey from hiding and trying to lure it into an open area, and then attack sharply and inflict a strong blow with their beak. And they do it in turn, not letting them come to their senses from the previous attack.
When fighting these Necromorphs, try to take a position in the corner, or at least keep your back against some cover. This way you protect your back. And when you see an approaching stalker, use stasis to slow down the enemy. And you will have time to cut off his limbs, unless, of course, another Necromorph comes on the attack.
