The Elder Scrolls Online is another exciting adventure for all fans of the original predecessor games to enjoy both solo and in multiplayer. Despite the fact that the series is undergoing constant changes, many features and details of the game lore remain unchanged. Like the popular vampires and werewolves in the fanbase.
These two popular ailments have long been an integral part of The Elder Scrolls lore and continue to roam from one part to another. Lycanthropy first appeared in TES II: Daggerfall, while the "debut" of vampirism came in the third numbered part of Morrowind. Together, werewolves and vampires were added to Skyrim and, of course, The Elder Scrolls Online.
Today we will focus on only one creature, vampires. What are the benefits of this disease? Why become a vampire at all? Is it worth it to succumb to the call of blood and most importantly - how to become a vampire in TESO? We will try to answer these and many moremore questions in our today's guide.
Vampirism in The Elder Scrolls
In the TESO universe, all vampires suffer from a special disease called vampirism. This disease is considered one of the most severe, along with lecanthropy (turning into werewolves) and corprus (turning into deformed and feeble-minded creatures). Most often, the virus is transmitted from any other infected person. The conversion process, in which the bitten person becomes a vampire, usually proceeds within 72 hours. During this time, you can heal with simple medicines, magic or blessings.

However, hemophilia (as the vampirism conversion process is called) is not at all easy to recognize at an early stage, which is why many players very often miss the right moment for treatment.
What are vampires?
Conversion greatly affects the appearance of a character. Their upper fangs become even sharper and longer, their skin begins to age and lose its he althy color, acquiring a deathly pale tint, and a strange glow appears in their eyes. Vampires cannot be in the sun and suffer greatly from fire. In contrast to this, they gain increased physical strength. Vampires can only sustain themselves with fresh blood.
Those who wish to cross over to the dark side and ask themselves the question of how to become a vampire in TESO should be prepared for the fact that they will most likely have to go into exile. The fact is that in the world of the Elder Scrolls, vampirism is out of the question.law. Converts are constantly being hunted, in which both ordinary amateur hunters and guilds specially created for this purpose take part.
Some vampires remain single, but this is very rare. Usually they are members of vampire clans, which become both family and refuge for them.

Pros of Vampirism
The strengths of this disease abound. To begin with, you can simply say that being a vampire is unusual and fun. Role-playing involves the presence of interesting stories and unique situations in which the character finds himself. That is why many players are wondering how to become a vampire in TESO: after going through this path, they will be able to diversify their gameplay and try something new. Yes, for many, this is the main advantage of vampirism. Other features of this disease include:
- basing attacks on mana;
- unlike a werewolf, vampires can use ste alth;
- greater efficiency at night;
- the presence of an additional slot in which you can place ultimate abilities;
- ability to use armor and weapons.

Cons of Vampirism
Despite all the useful skills that we talked about earlier, vampires also have certain weaknesses. Of course, in the first place are the destructive effects of sunlight and fire. Before becoming a vampire in TESO, the player must decide for himself if he is willing to sacrifice his daytime activity.
An additional vulnerability from vampire-hunting guilds can also be noted. Usually, these are Fighters Guilds that specialize in undead.
How to become a vampire in TESO: guide
Finally, we got to the main topic of our today's article. The walkthrough presented below will be based on the specific conditions and actions that must be performed by the player. Required:
The first step before becoming a vampire in TESO is Bangkorai
First you need to send the character to where other bloodsuckers often hang out. We recommend Bangkorai, but you can easily visit other similar places like Reaper's March or the Rift. What to do at the location itself? The fact is that at midnight in Bangkorai you can meet bloody vampire devils (Bloodfiends), from which you can become infected with vampirism.

The second step before becoming a vampire in TESO is the Scion of the Blood Matron quest
You can only start this quest if the character has already been bitten (see the first step above). Accessing Scion of the Blood Matron is easy: just visit one of the many waystones located throughout the map. Despite the fact that the quest is quite easy to complete, it is better to take it after level 38.
The third step before becoming a vampire in TESO is to the altar
Access to a special ritu althe altar can only be obtained through the passage of the quest Scion of the Blood Matron, which we talked about a little higher. This object is needed to perform the Blood Ritual, a spell that should complete the process of turning a mortal into a vampire. The altar is a kind of finish line, passing which the character will no longer be able to return to his past life.
Congratulations, the Scion of the Blood Matron quest (better known as the "how to become a vampire in TESO" quest) is now complete! From this moment on, the character begins the life of a real bloodsucker!
Additional information

Actually, there is another way to get vampirism. You can become a vampire in TESO, as we wrote earlier, through the bite of another infected. However, for this it is not at all necessary to go in search of Bangkorai in order to provoke a couple of blood devils (npc). You can go the other way and negotiate with a live player whose character has already completed the quest and has become a vampire himself. It is worth saying that not every player feels the desire to provide such a service. Especially if the person making the request is not a clan member.
In general, this method does not differ much from the previous one, except for the circumstances (under which the character was bitten). In any case, the decision is up to the player himself.
