Have you noticed that sometimes when you log in at the boot stage or when you wake up from sleep mode, the constant request for the password of the current user is indescribably annoying? Of course, using passwords provides a higher level of personal data protection, but what if you urgently need to do something on your computer terminal or laptop, or you simply forgot the current combination and cannot log in or wake up from sleep mode ? In this case, you will need to turn off the password request in Windows 10 at all levels (both when logging in and when logging out). How to do this, we will further understand. The proposed methods below are quite simple, but some of them may not be available in certain editions of the system (meaning blocking access to group policies in the home modification). We take Windows 10 only as an example, and the ones described belowmethods work in all recent versions, including both the eighth and the seventh (some can even be used in Vista and XP).
Introduction: possible consequences of disabling the password
Before we get into the techniques for disabling password checking in Windows 10, let's take a quick look at what it can lead to, if we consider only the negative consequences. The main problem concerns the fact that under your current registration, anyone who turns on your terminal will be able to enter the system, which may lead to unauthorized access to personal data or confidential information. The same applies to the penetration of intruders into the system from the outside (it is quite elementary to gain access to a PC, and the absence of password protection makes the task much easier). On the other hand, at home, if you are your own administrator, the use of passwords looks very impractical and is used only in cases where you want to restrict access to the computer for your household or children. But in offices or enterprises, it’s better to think a hundred times before deactivating password entry when logging into Windows 10 or when waking up from sleep modes.
Will changing account type help?
Some users mistakenly believe that you can simply change the type of registration used by installing a Microsoft registration instead of a standard "account", say, created at the stage of system installation or in the account management section of a running OS. This method does not disable passwords, because for the “accounting” itselfMicrosoft, it is mandatory to have a password (and a rather complex one at that).
Disabling password in Windows 10: options
Now directly about the deactivation of passwords, taking into account all possible situations. Of course, you can disable the use of password combinations both for logging in to the system and for exiting standby mode (sleep or hibernation). The passwords themselves can be deactivated using the following tools:
- standard account management section when admin level login;
- similar section in the options menu;
- group policy settings;
- system registry;
- power plan settings;
- special software.
Reset your password in Windows 10 using the standard method
The first technique concerns logging in, when a window requiring the entry of a set combination is displayed at the stage of system boot. To disable the password in Windows 10, call the classic "Control Panel" with the control command in the "Run" menu, go to the accounts section, and then use the management of another login.

In the new window, click on the avatar of your "account", and then on the right click on the link to change the password, enter the valid combination, and leave the fields for the new password blank. Then all that remains is to save the changes by pressing the confirmation button.
Command method to disable password prompts
An easier method to disable the password inWindows 10 is to use a special tool called from the Run console. It allows you to disable password prompts for all registered users.

For this, a special command is used to disable the password in Windows 10 and then deactivate the mandatory requirement, as shown in the image above. You can also use a similar combination of netplwiz for access. This combination opens the same section and with the same settings.
Manage passwords and login options through settings
If anyone does not know, the tenth modification of Windows has not one control panel for the main options, but two. The first is standard, the second is the "Options" menu. Disabling a password in Windows 10 using the second tool is quite simple.

You can call up the desired section either through the main menu, or through the settings displayed in the Start menu when you press the button with horizontal stripes and select the item to change registration parameters. Then just change the password, specifying empty fields for the new one, as in the previous case.
Note: if you have activated PIN codes or pattern keys, you will also need to get rid of them.
Disabling requests when logging in through the registry
Now let's move on to more complex techniques. To set up automated login without requiring a password, it is better to use the parameterssystem registry (regedit). In the editor, you need to navigate through the HKLM branch to the WinLogon section.

On the right there is the key AutoAdminLogon, for which you need to change the value by setting the unit. If there is no such parameter, create it yourself. You can also add domain login options here, or even change the username for which automatic login with a given password will be used. Please note that you do not need to change or delete the current passwords in the system itself in this case.
Deactivate passwords when waking from sleep and hibernation
Disabling the password in Windows 10 when waking from sleep modes is done by several methods using standard settings, group policy settings, registry or power plan options.

From the login management section accessed through the options menu, use the login options item located in the list on the left, and then, if you have an active password, select "Never" from the list of actions to request it.

In policies (gpedit.msc), use the computer configuration, administrative templates and system partition, find the power management directory, which has a sleep mode settings subsection, then on the right in the workspace completely disable the two options for requiring a password (for mains and battery power, ifyou are using a laptop) shown in the image above.

Options are deactivated by turning them off when editing.
The same can be done with the registry, because the policy options in it are completely duplicated. The registry has a higher priority, so you can change the options set in the policies in it. If you set similar settings in the registry in policies, you will not be able to change the settings.

Go through the HKLM branch and go down to the section 0e796bdb-100d-47d6-a2d5-f7d2daa51f51 (if you don't find one in the main PowerSettings folder, create it yourself), and on the right in the window create the ACSettingsIndex and DCSettingsIndex DWORD keys, after then for each of them set the value to zero. At the end of the steps, you must restart your computer!

Finally, bring up the power management section (on a laptop, the easiest way is to use the menu available via RMB on the battery icon in the tray), in the current scheme, go to advanced settings and / or options that are currently not available, and then find in the list Password Requirement and set it to No.
Special software
Lastly, let's get back to deactivating passwords when logging in. If for some reason the above methods seem too complicated for you, use the Autologon for Windows utility,which can be downloaded from the official resource of Microsoft Essentials. After that, run the program from the executable (it's portable and doesn't require installation), enter your current username with a valid password, and then simply click the Enable button. After the reboot, you will be able to log in automatically and without confirming the security combination.
