Now many users of PC computer systems are increasingly faced with the problem of "Windows 10". Whether it is worth installing it as the main operating system, everyone decides for himself. At least Microsoft's experts said that it will be a real revolution in the world of computer technology. But how true is that?
Official release
If anyone doesn't know, the new operating system was officially introduced to the world a long time ago, but officially it became available for download and installation only on July 29, 2015.

What is most interesting, the corporation-developer has taken the most unprecedented step in the history of its existence, making the "top ten" free. Among other things, you can not only install the system, but also update it, which was previously not available at all, which is unusual for this company at all. Agree, the cost of the same "seven" earlier in Russia, for example, it was almost 4 thousand rubles, but today it has been reduced to 1090 rubles. Most likely, Microsoft, focusing on free, tried to popularize not only the new OS, but also some of its other developments that are included in the main list of supported devices (in particular, this is the Xbox 360 set-top box).
The process of installing or updating the system
So, "Microsoft Windows 10" has become available for installation. Here, one should take into account the fact that initially users were asked to register on the official Microsoft website, get an account, update the existing operating system, but not lower than Vista, and then queue up for installation rights.

At the same time, a rather tricky solution is the presence on the same official website of a specialized utility called Media Creation Tool for those users who do not want to wait. The utility "weighs" 36 MB, and after its launch, the installation of the system over the existing one is activated. At the same time, even during the installation process, you can safely work with open documents and applications.
Here, however, it is worth considering a few points. First, when faced with "Windows 10" 64-bit version, you need to pay attention to the fact that the previous system in which the installation or update will be carried out had the same bit depth. It has to do with the file system. That is, you can put a 64-bit system on top of a 32-bit system, but the opposite will not work. In other words, FAT32 over NTFS withoutformatting the hard drive is not set.
In addition, the issue of free disk space remains somewhat incomprehensible when installing Windows 10 on a computer. According to the developers themselves, the actual installation requires a little more than 3.5 GB, but, as practice shows, you will have to use a disk partition with at least 9 GB. This is only due to the fact that the installation package not only copies its own installation files, but also makes it possible to roll back to the previous version. Roughly speaking, if the "ten" is installed on top of the same "seven", it is to Windows 7 as the primary platform that you can always roll back (provided that the installation files are saved). If the system used the function of cleaning the system disk with the removal of all installation components, it simply will not work to return to the previous version.
Windows 10 Activation
As for the activation of the system, in principle, the essence of this problem does not come down to the introduction of a license code, as it was before, but only to the usual registration on the developer's website and creating a Microsoft account.
But there are problems with her too. After Windows 10 is installed, user reviews indicate that deleting an entry, changing or deleting the login password is not so easy. Of course, you can disable its request during normal boot and when exiting sleep mode. According to the support service itself, the record after the application can be deleted after 60 days. But this is not the case either (checked by many users, and the answer is unambiguous).
"Windows 10": is it worth installing? All for and against
On the other hand, the system looks quite interesting in terms of new features and does not impose any special requirements in terms of hardware.

But what should really please users of, say, G8s is the reappearance of the start button and menu. True, there are some changes here. The fact is that when you click on the button, the menu itself is called up, in which absolutely all the elements are sorted alphabetically, which looks somewhat unusual, and the secondary menu of the Metro interface, which is present to the right of the main one.

But users of computer systems with touchscreen support can switch between regular and tablet mode quite simply.
However, right from the menu you can see that the system is aimed at supporting the Xbox. The main menu even has a special section. In addition, the Windows 10 desktop is absolutely no different from the already familiar interface, which will be discussed a little later. But in general, without going into the technical aspects of the functioning of the "tens", contrary to popular belief, it is worth saying. that the system has much more pluses than minuses.
System Requirements
If we talk about Microsoft Windows 10 in terms of hardware requirements, they are surprisingly low. So, for example, for normal system operation, the recommended parameters are to use at least a 2-core processor and 2 GB of RAMmemory, which by today's standards is very small. Agree, because even many high-end smartphones today can even be equipped with 8-core processors in combination with 3-6 GB of RAM.
Interface
When you first look at Windows 10 in Russian, nothing special, except for the Start menu, catches your eye.
It is worth noting separately that in the new system, by default, the developers completely abandoned the use of volumetric elements. Such a “flatness” at first a little dumbfounds (especially those who are used to, say, Windows XP or the Aero interface of the “seven”), but then after a few days of use you quickly get used to it.

The Quick Launch bar now has a File Explorer icon, a task view command and a search tool, not to mention the Internet browser icon, which, by the way, has undergone quite a change.
New Internet Browser
In the "top ten", which may especially please many users, the developers have abandoned the use of Internet Explorer by default for surfing the World Wide Web. The new browser is called Edge and has become more convenient, although it takes a long time to open the home page with recommended tabs.

But that doesn't mean that the Explorer itself isn't here. It can be easily found in the programs section or in the same "Explorer". But now it's not about that. When testing the same Edge that is present in Windows 10, user reviews indicate that the newThe browser has become much faster. And this, by the way, is confirmed by official data provided by independent experts who tested this software. The fact is that Edge managed to bypass all systems known today in terms of performance and outstripped even such giants as Opera, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, not counting other developments.
The only thing that causes legitimate skepticism is the increased relationship with antiviruses. The trouble is that the browser itself can block downloads from file-sharing networks like Turbobit or from peer-to-peer networks, or, more simply, from torrent trackers. In this case, even disabling protection in a regular antivirus does not help. The browser simply “rests” on the fact that this source is potentially unsafe. As it is already clear, it is quite simple to get around such restrictions by enabling downloading in another program.
Accessibility
An interesting innovation was the presence of an intelligent assistant Cortana. Not everyone uses it, because most users who clearly understand that Windows 10 activation is not required may find that most new applications or add-ons can be found in a special Store. In this respect, it is somewhat similar to services like the Play Market (Google Play) or the App Store.
As you already know, you will have to pay for the additional components presented in this service, and sometimes even a “tidy” sum.

Separately, it is worth dwelling on the issue of updates. Initiallyit was argued that updates would not be released for the “tens”, they say, the system is flawless. As time has shown, programs for Windows 10 do not always work correctly, all the more the same security system suffers. But in most cases, this only applies to updates to the. NET Framework and the installed office suite.
And it's not so easy to get to the update settings themselves. The previous component in the form of "Windows Update" in the "Control Panel" does not work. Here you should use the properties of the computer, where on the left side there is a hyperlink to go to the desired menu. The saddest thing is that even with automatic updating enabled (which used to work without problems), it does not always work - you have to agree that updates are found, and then reboot the system. And updates will be installed only after that.
Software compatibility
We continue to consider Windows 10. Is it worth installing such a system in terms of applications and how they work? Yes, indeed, as stated, when moving from one system to another (meaning an update), the programs and applications that were originally present work without problems. But installing new software often may not work. Firstly, the drawback is that the system itself does not always correctly initialize the user's administrative rights, and, secondly, it pays too much attention to checking digital signatures of certificates.
That's why when you run some installer or even a program, the system first issuesrequests like “Trust such and such a manufacturer or application?”, “Allow changes to be made here and there?” etc. It goes without saying that such notification can be disabled, but this is not the point here.
Antivirus software and optimizers
With regard to antiviruses and programs that allow you to speed up the system, the "top ten" has become much tougher. The reason is not even in the firewall. Here, it is easy to add any application to the list of exceptions.

The main problem lies in the fact that the new OS simply does not allow you to install the appropriate software, ignoring the installer's request. For example: when trying to install a program for Windows 10 (like Advanced System Care, Glary Utilities latest version or AVG PC Tune Up) on a “bare” system loaded at the beginning of August, only the last utility got up normally.
Result
Well, let's sum up the topic "Windows 10": is it worth installing?". We noted both positive and negative factors. However, for fans of experiments, the field of activity is quite wide. However, if you are used to the standard scheme and mind, the installation of "ten" in most cases will be meaningless. But this, as they say, everyone decides for himself.
