How few games today exist in which the user would have to control entire hordes of monsters, to be a black lord sitting on his iron throne. "Overlord", the passage of which allows you to feel what it's like to be bad, parodies most of the fantasy films of our time. Among other things, the game is made in a somewhat humorous style, so that the game with good and evil does not become serious. In general, the game is intended for children 12-15 years old. It is in their eyes that the project acquires all its brightness and quirkiness.
Gameplay
Actually speaking, we have to play not for the black overlord himself, but for his servants - small and malicious goblins, striving to take everything into their own hands. They are divided into 4 classes: warriors, mages, healers and assassins. Each species has its own characteristics and capabilities that help it survive in battle. Such hordes of small embittered goblins are able to wipe out a full-fledged village from the face of the earth, decompose and plunder it to the very foundation, bringing all the most valuable to their master. An interesting point is that the player is free to choose his behavior:commit one atrocity after another, or help the disadvantaged (poor elves and dwarves, for example).
From time to time, the Overlord himself will enter the battle. The passage is built mainly on completing quests and collecting various materials, after collecting which you can forge new armor and weapons for the Black Lord. In some places there are logical riddles, the implementation of which is possible with the help of small goblins. For example, press the desired lever to open the gate. Separate classes of goblins are good against each opponent. For example, in a battle with a troll, it is best to use all melee soldiers. But be careful, when the troll starts yelling, you need to immediately withdraw all units! An interesting point is the appearance of the Dark Lord in the game "Overlord". Passing beyond the dark side will be visually reflected in his appearance: the spikes will become longer, the armor will be thicker, and so on. Good deeds don't change anything.
Everything is fine
Artificial intelligence in the game "Overlord", the passage of which provides the ability to control it, looks very tolerable. Goblins understand orders well, do not slow down and do not get stuck. The graphics component is based on an engine borrowed from the game "Fable". Everything looks quite colorful and picturesque. The passage of the game "Overlord" will throw the user into various locations that have their own environment and scale. Each one looks different andindividually. With humor, the developers are all right. The game is replete with funny game inserts involving little goblins and their pressing problems. And the Overlord himself sometimes does ridiculous things. 2 parts have already been released, and many are looking forward to the release of "Overlord 3".
