Already from ancient times, when the gaming industry was in its infancy, people had a noticeable craving for secretive passage of games. However, most projects from the shooter genre did not provide such opportunities, so gamers had to endure. They were given a choice from a large number of weapons, but at the same time there was no way to sneak up on the enemy, eliminate him silently - only a head-on collision. However, over time, the developers found the possibility of realizing such desires, and gradually ste alth shooters and action games began to appear on the market, which, of course, immediately became very popular. However, among others, special projects stood out that received the right to be called the best in this genre - Hitman, Splinter Cell, Thief, and so on. It would seem that ste alth action has found its heroes, and other projects will be only a pale shadow of the titans. However, the year 2007 came and the genre literally turned upside down.
Assassin's Creed Appears

It was in 2007 that the Assassins Creed game appeared on the market -ste alth action that allowed gamers to try on the person of a hired killer in the Middle Ages. To be more precise, you find yourself at the end of the twelfth century, that is, when the Third Crusade took place. An unprecedented war between Christians and Muslims is brewing, which threatens to plunge the world into chaos. And only the Order of the Assassins can solve this problem, for the representative of which you have to play. The passage of the game is that you, in the person of Altair, a faithful servant of the Order, need to use a large number of melee weapons, as well as excellent combat skills, to eliminate dangerous representatives of a particular religion in order to prevent a war. All this attracted the gaming community, which immediately called Assassins Creed 1 a real masterpiece of ste alth. For this game, a separate subsection of the genre was even invented - social ste alth. Previously, in such games, the character could only hide, hide from the enemy’s view, so that he would not be noticed or forgotten about. Now you can mix with the crowd in the city, which, by the way, quite vividly reacts to how your character acts. No wonder that this particular game was called revolutionary in this genre.
Storm of consoles

Of course, such success has not gone unnoticed in the console world. While the first part of "Assassin's Creed" was released not only on PC, but also on the main consoles - Xbox and PS, other consoles were left without attention. Therefore, the developers immediately turned to the yet unexplored, but terribly thirsty market - and did notmiscalculated. First, a reworked first part of the game was released exclusively for the DS, and then the second part appeared, but not entirely, but only one chapter. Well, the end of the assault on consoles was the Assassins Creed: Bloodlines project, which connected the first and second parts of the game. From this it was clear that gamers were waiting for the continuation of the successful ste alth action, which was released in 2009.
Best game in the series

Many were afraid that the second part, as often happens, will be much worse than the first, because the developers periodically try to earn easy money on successful projects. However, Assassins Creed 2 not only justified all the expectations placed on it - it came out much better than the first part. In this episode, graphics and physics were largely reworked, which made the game much more realistic, dynamic and visually attractive. New types of weapons, new tricks and combinations have been added, as well as the opportunity to move on a horse and a hang glider, and the main character was still taught to swim. Moreover, Truth has added variety to the gameplay of Assassins Creed 2 - a special passive mode. Its essence lies in the fact that throughout the game you will come across various puzzles. By solving them, you will get pieces of a big puzzle. In Assassins Creed 2, Truth will allow you to access a very interesting video that will reveal some of the secrets of the game itself. To do this, you will need to solve absolutely all the puzzles, because even without one detail of the video you will notsee. However, it's fair to say that the puzzles aren't all that difficult - it's just that some will take a little longer to think about. The quest component is what Truth added to Assassins Creed 2. Such a move was rather risky, but in the end it justified itself - the project became much more exciting and intriguing. Moreover, no one forces you to look for all the answers to the puzzles, since they do not affect the game itself in any way - only the bonus video.
Brotherhood of Assassins and multiplayer

Before the eyes of gamers, a new franchise began to grow, which literally captured the whole world. Naturally, everything did not stop at two parts, and already in 2010 a sequel was released - Assassins Creed: Brotherhood. The game has undergone some not-so-impressive changes, and has also received a new story campaign. However, the most important innovation was multiplayer, which gave players the opportunity to play with each other over the network. In this part, the gamer for the first time was able to create his own unique assassin, in the role of which he went to fight on the network fields. Moreover, Truth migrated to this part from Assassins Creed 2 - the same quest component. In Brotherhood, the player could also open a bonus video if they found all the necessary components by solving puzzles. As a result, the game turned out no worse than its predecessors. However, the Assassins Creed Truth function did not affect the passage in any way, many players preferred to watch a video on the Internet instead of decidingcountless puzzles, so it can no longer be found in the following parts.
First decline
Not wanting to lose such a profitable series, the developers were in no hurry with the release of the third part of the game. Instead, in 2011, another independent addition appeared, called Revelations. Luck could not be eternal, and both players and critics took such a move with coolness. Moreover, in the new part, only the final stage of the plot appeared, and the multiplayer was also expanded - but all this was sold as an independent product. Therefore, the ratings of the game dropped significantly, which forced the developers to move on to the creation of the third part of the game.
The end of the Assassin trilogy

2012 was marked by the fact that the third (final) part of the story about the adventures of members of the Order of the Assassins appeared on the gaming market. The game Assassins Creed 3 appeared before the fans even more beautiful, perfect and exciting, deserving extremely positive reviews from critics. In this part, you can become a participant in the US Civil War - unbelievable, but true. The developers managed to harmoniously fit the story about the Assassins into American reality, while drawing a line under the exciting narrative. Naturally, new techniques were added to the game, various aspects were improved, and the possibility of conducting naval battles appeared. All this made the third part of the game so great, and also provided an opportunity for the developers to earn some extra money on the franchise and please the fans of the series.
Separaterelease for "Vita"
PSV was left without the third part, which was released on PC, X-box and PS, as well as Nintendo. However, the audience using this console turned out to be so large that the developers had to make a separate third part for users of this platform. Since the original Assassins Creed 3 was too large to be transferred to Vita, a separate part was created called Liberation, in which the main character was a girl, which made the users of the console extremely happy. Otherwise, the mechanics of the game remained the same, but the result was not the most comforting - this part of the series turned out to be much worse than any of the previous ones.
The trilogy was not enough

Gamers couldn't believe it - Assassins Creed is no more! Will the whole series fit in five years? As it turned out, their fears were in vain, because the developers decided to continue the life of the franchise by releasing the fourth part - Assassins Creed: Black Flag. And it definitely didn’t become a mistake - the fans tried the novelty with pleasure and recognized it as first-class. But in it you will have to play not even an assassin, but a pirate, a ship captain who has become one of the best in his field, but at the same time was involved in the affairs of the Assassins and the Templars. Naturally, the players expected new tricks, movements, new types of weapons, certain improvements in graphics, in the game engine, and, of course, a fresh setting - they had to act on oceanic islands.
Failed Port
However outragedfans still knew no bounds, and not at all because of the fourth part. The fact is that the owners of the PC and the leading consoles were unhappy with the fact that only PSV owners were allowed to play for the assassin girl. After all, "Liberation" was released exclusively for "Vita", so this character, as well as the accompanying campaign, were not available on other platforms. Naturally, the developers undertook to fix this problem and created a port of Liberation from Vita on PC and consoles. But it would be better if they created a new game, since porting from PSV turned out to be an ignoble thing - in the end, no matter how hard the programmers tried to tighten up the graphics, physics and other aspects of the game, everything turned out at a terrifying level. Is this really a wake-up call for developers that it's time for them to close the series and look for benefits in other areas?
Hope for the future

As it turns out, the Assassins Creed series isn't even close to ending yet. The release of a new part, which will be called Unity, is already planned for 2014. It will deal with the French Revolution, as well as the French assassin, who is involved in the thick of things. Developers need to make a very high-quality game - firstly, to justify themselves for the failed "Liberation", and secondly, to prove to everyone that the series about assassins has not yet outlived its usefulness and can continue to develop, providing gamers with more and more high-quality products. In general, it is the part called Unity that will decide the future fate of the franchise.
